Suffering from kidney disease and poor eyesight, 44-year-old Siti has no way of tidying up her house and cries herself to sleep every night.
 
She has been living like this for more than a year, leaving her helpless and in tears every night. 14 Tzu Chi volunteers and staff visited her home to help clean and replace her furniture, making her entire environment much cleaner and more comfortable.
 
Simple furniture, piles of items, scattered in this small space, this is where Siti lives with her 11-year-old son. Siti, who was diagnosed with kidney disease last year, has started to become weak. Coupled with the weakened vision of her eyes due to a broken blood vessel, her basic standard of living has been affected.

Every night I cry, seeing the house very messy I also feel stressed, but I cannot do anything, (Furniture) spoil, messy, (my son) cannot help with anything also
 
Poor health and weak eyesight left Siti with no time for household chores and environmental hygiene began to be a problem.

With the hygiene situation at home, maybe they didn't realise that that situation might not be very good for their health.
 
After the Tzu Chi volunteer communicated with Siti, she gladly agreed to let the volunteer to do the cleaning at her home.

There was a lot of hair, too many things not organised at the corner, a lot of garbage and dust.

The toilet is really dirty, there is a lot of cockroach droppings, I have washed it more than 10 times, now it looks better and people who use it would also feel comfortable.
 
All the furniture in the house was donated second-hand by others, and some of it was already worn out. The Charity Development Department’s staff also replaced the furniture for Siti, giving the 33 square metre space an instant new look.

This is my first time I got a new washing machine and all that, new dining table, new wardrobe. Now I am very happy about my house, I really appreciate it a lot.

For this case, we feel that this family has a lot of changes to make in the long run, so we hope that they will first feel the difference in their home environment, and then they will be more motivated to develop better living habits.
